The Cargill Fort Dodge plant uses a continuous steeping process to break down the corn into useable parts. Manually controlled water valves have proved to be ineffective so Cargill implemented a 580-CHARMS pneumatic valve manifold to automate the process. The integration into their DeltaV control system is seamless and provides better control with built in diagnostics that saves operators time and aggravation over manual control.
